Getting to Allynbrook by road

From Sydney

Allynbrook is approx 2 1/4 hrs from Wahroonga, there are a number of variations, so driving the same route is never boring.  Refer to your GPS navigator.

The simplest route is to follow the F3 to the end, then the New England Highway to Maitland, turn  right at the round-about towards Paterson, cross the Hunter River to Lorn and follow the Paterson, then Tocal Roads through Paterson, Vacy and East Gresford and continue north to Allynbrook (50km from Maitland). We are 1km north of the single lane timber bridge.

If travelling in the early morning or at dusk please be careful as a lot of our local wildlife are out and about.

From West and North

Travel to Singleton, then Gresford and East Gresford, then turn left to Allynbrook (10km.)

From East and North

If travelling south on the Pacific Highway, from Taree there are several ways to approach Allynbrook such as via Gloucester, Stroud Road and Dungog. These are, in part, very scenic mountain roads and therefore not the quickest way.

Sticking to the highway through Raymond Terrace and Hexham to Maitland and then as above to Allynbrook is the straightforward route.

Again check your navigator for the scenic routes particularly if you have some time.

Getting to Allynbrook by Air

The closest airport is Newcastle Airport at Williamstown, approx 1 1/4 hr drive from Allynbrook.

Very special conditions would be required for us to be nice enough to pick up from the airport.

Newcastle Airport has limited connections, mainly from Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast with some smaller airlines flying from some country centres.

Getting to Allynbrook by public transport

Rail

From Sydney’s Central Station there are both CityRail and County Link services available to the area, closest stations are Dungog and Paterson for which we offer pick up service.

CityRail services are from Central via Hornsby, a train change is necessary at Hamilton for Maitland then Paterson. (Dungog is further on the same line). Services are limited so please check the timetable well in advance.

In exceptional circumstances we may pick up from Maitland, but this is a round trip of 1 1/2 hrs.

Country Link (note:  this service requires prebooking at least 24 hrs ahead.)

Dungog is on the main Sydney to Brisbane line (this also links Casino) so regular services are available from the north.

Services from the north west, all pass through Maitland and could be linked to the Dungog line.

Again, in exceptional and prearranged cases where no link is available, we may pick up from Maitland
